CLIENT requires Network Engineering services to support the Operational FTN-X Optical Network, Data Centre Interconnect and associated non-Operational capabilities.
The candidate will be required to support the development and upgrade of a National Packet-Optical NGN Network, based on Infinera DTN-X, XTM and XTG platform.
Technical support of NTI ( New Technology Introduction) process and PA (Product Approval) of new equipment, services and NMSs
Support Pilot Network Builds from Architecture to Implementation, test and handover to Operations
Produce Network High-Level and Low-Level Design Documents
Act as Tier 3 Technical Support for troubleshooting and operation of the Optical Network
Key Deliverables
- Responsible for creation of Low-Level and High-Level Network Design documentation and
- New Technology Introduction Test Plan and Test Case Creation, design and implementation in Lab and operational environment for new equipment, services and NMSs
- Development of test specifications for design validation
- Supervise and witness formal acceptance tests for design validation, equipment installation and commissioning, end to end network and service deployments
- Handover documentation for NTI and PA of Optical network equipment and services
- Technical definitions of Optical and Carrier Ethernet Product Service Portfolio and OSS solutions.
- Architectural Modelling and development of hardware in Amdocs (Cramer)
- Responsible for TAT and UAT for new solutions, s/w upgrades, configuration changes and new features roll out.
- Develop/Support Optimisation and Automation in existing and future estate
- Provide Tier 3 Technical Support with Network Implementation in Core, Metro and Data Centre estates
- Collaborate with multiple stakeholders across multiple Business Units to achieve goals
- Complying to Client and telecoms network standards
- Provide periodic reports to client Project Manager and stakeholders
- Compliance to ITIL, ITSM and Design Governance processes
Essential Skills
- 5+ years of experience operating large scale network infrastructures in engineering roles
- Hands on Experience with Infinera DNA and DNA-M Network Management Systems is (Mandatory)
- Hands on Experience with Infinera DTN-X and XTM Network Equipment is (Mandatory)
- Excellent working experience on Transport Technologies like ROADM, xWDM, OTN, Coherent Transmission, High Order
- Modulations and Carrier Ethernet services. (Mandatory)
- Excellent working experience in Operations and Design and roll out of NGN Optical Networks Regional and Pan
- European for Service Providers (Mandatory)
- Knowledge of SNMP, TL1 or XML-based management protocols
- Excellent communication and customer interfacing skills and ability to liaise between technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Experience on WDM Optical Budget Calculation, WDM System Implementation Rules, Optical Link Engineering Tools.
- End to End Network and Services testing between NMS/network element, troubleshooting and problem reporting.
- Network/Equipment Test Plan and Test Cases creation/design, execution and Test documentation preparation
- Good Understanding of FCAPS on Optical transport devices
- Experience in Requirement Analysis and RFP preparation
- Experience on Modelling Transport Devices and logical Layers in Amdocs Cramer
- Experience in TCP/IP Networking (L2 Switching, L3 Routing) is a plus
- Experience on Carrier Ethernet, circuit emulation protocols (SAToP, CESoP), SyncE, QoS, OAM/PM tools/protocols (RFC2544, Y.1564, CFM, Y.1731,..) and MPLS-TP is a plus
- Desirable Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent practical experience
- CE v2.0 MEF, Cisco CCNA/CCNP certifications
- Knowledge on Linux, VMware, Hyper-V
- Experience in automation scripting (Python, C++ or similar software language)
