Job Summary:
As the Finance and Operations Support working in Network Services division, you will be a key member of a high performing team supporting an established multi-million-pound business. This is an exciting role which involves handling the day-to-day operational and finance tasks within the business unit.
The role reports to the Senior Management Accountant, whilst acting as a liaison point with stakeholders across areas of the business such as Sales, Finance and Management.
Key responsibilities:
The specific responsibilities that relate to this role include but are not limited to:
Operations
- Set up projects on company system, allocate resources and their rates accurately.
- Run standard reports within the ERP system, identify any potential issues as well as ensure that any necessary adjustment happens in a timely manner.
- Raise invoices and take action to resolve unbilled balances.
- Weekly and monthly timesheet management of the business unit.
- Liaise with the sales team to ensure accurate and timely flow of information within agreed service levels.
- Build knowledge of the client accounts and proactively provide support to sales and delivery teams as required.
- Help implement changes and develop new processes as required to be able to better manage the information flow and remove inefficiencies.
- Assist with annual internal and external audits.
- Manage operations inbox and all relevant queries/ actions relating to these queries.
Finance
- Be part of the month end close processes and support Senior Management Accountant in interpreting key performance metrics.
- Process supplier invoices to support the Accounts Payable team.
- Assist the credit control team with enquiries or escalation required during the debt collection process.
- A good understanding of contractual agreements that allow us to recognise revenue correctly according with US GAAP.
- An understanding of revenue forecasting, project profitability and invoicing.
Skills and Experience:
- Experience working with an ERP system and be keen to understand how the reporting is run to improve the efficiency and accuracy of the data.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Excel – able to use basic functions such as sorting/filtering data and formulas involving sums.
- Attention to detail – able to notice or look for discrepancies among a large data set.
- Ability to prioritise highest value work, when competing deadlines exist.
- Written and oral communication skills – able to build rapport with internal and external stakeholders.
- Problem solving and facilitation – able to respond to enquiries and offer resolution.
- Time management skills – able to work to deadlines and cope with many conflicting demands during month end.
- An interest in finance or analytical mindset is essential for this role.
Other Desirable Skills and Experience:
- Experience of working in a fast-paced operations environment with deadlines
- Intermediate/Advanced Excel skills such as vlookups, macros etc.
